I debated whether or not to show these Amour'd Core sketches, but I think it's important to see that not all drawings need to be aesthetic, or beautifully crafted works of art. Sometimes they're just to get moving, to explore ideas, to find inspiration on the page in real time. They're stretches- it doesn't matter if the sketch looks like I've never seen a human face in my life- sometimes I'm looking for a vibe, a feeling, or to see if the idea in my head actually belongs on paper, and what I didn't think of while imagining it.
Don't be scared to make ugly art- it doesn't mean you're a bad artist. There is no contract that obligates you to make a masterpiece the second the graphite hits the paper. And besides, nothing can stop you from doing another pass and developing your ideas, or working on the stuff you want to improve. The most important part is getting it outside of your head so you can look at it, and mold it into something better.
