'Political peace time" is the most cis, rich, white male thing that I've ever heard. You can see that the concept blew Coates' mind. It's clear that politics for Klein is like fantasy football for others. He has his team that he likes, he tweaks it a little here and there, wins a couple, loses more, thinks a trade will put him over the top. When the season is done it's peace time because the results of the season don't affect him one way or the other. It's just for pride and bragging rights anyway. Now for the first time in his life the results of the season might affect him and he's lost and confused. He doesn't know what to do and just wants to go back to how things used to be when things were good for Him.
