The degrowth axiom that we live on a finite planet is just false. Our planet continues to get all its energy from the sun, as it has done since its formation 4.5 billion years ago. If we lived in a closed-system the law of entropy would mean we'd already be de-growing. Certain elements are probably finite, or at least we can't yet synthesise them, which is why we should ban helium for balloons and funny squeaky voices when it's necessary for MRI scans.
