Nord Stream Bombing & What Is "Anti-War" Anyway? ft. Carl Beijer

Carl Beijer returns for a discussion on his recent "Notes on Hersh and the Nord Stream bombing." We also talk about why an nominally "anti-war" rally would include explicitly pro-war agitators.

Carl seems like he has sensible takes on ukraine. I think it makes the most sense to phrase this as a battle between two competing custom unions as he has previously. If you know anything about the modern history of belarus and ukraine you would probably view this conflict in that lense. This becomes fairly apparent when you look at either lukashanko or yanukovich. Mark ames has done good work in pointing out that it would have been unthinkable for russia to stage an invasion out of belarus half a decade ago. Lukashanko was not always in russia's pocket but was in part forced into their hand by western pressure. I'm not trying to argue that either of these figures werent massive pieces of shit they were but they both had a tendency to play the EU and Russian customs defense pacts off of each other. Also agree with him that having jackson hinkle type trolls on really undermines any anti war efforts
