Hunter Thompson killed himself because he was depressed. Politics was his life, and the more twisted it was, the more he was in his zone. He had depression that he self-medicated with a slew of drugs, which he cataloged publicly. He also drank very heavily for many years. The more he drank, the greater his depression grew. He was also obsessed with firearms.
