It is about the aspirations of Democratic Party reformers post-1968 and a current power map of the party post-Obama. It is a serious academic study. Being a socialist but having worked for D elected officials, I found it useful for understanding how important factional differences are in the D big tent. This is especially important because so many lefties treat “the Democrats” as a monolith in a reductive way. At the very least we should understand contradictions between rank and file and leaders/donors/NGOs.
