2020-03-23 15:53:03 +0000 UTCahhhhhh this is my 4th favorite song! i think this is the one where lin's lyrical genius really shines because those WORDS are so so so good. the way he weaves in his previous lyrics really lift the song up. this is also the song that ramps up your excitement and adrenaline, perfectly mimicking the urgency of what's happening. the live of this is probably the best in the whole show, alongside guns and ships. like i said, it just gets better. fun fact: irl hamilton really did write 'i wish there was a war' in a letter and irl wahsington also yelled 'are these the men with which i am to defend america' and threw his hat to the ground i frustration. helpless and satisfied, arguably the best connected songs in the whole musical, are next after a brief prelude with a winter's ball. i can't wait!
