Redraw challenge - 2021 vs 2014
Added 2021-01-03 22:41:05 +0000 UTCI figured it would be fun to reinterpret an old drawing I did long, long ago. I redesigned this demonic pirate captain character a bit to make her fit into the world of Aphelion Red.
Captain Evy van Rossum, known more commonly by her nom de guerre “Redhand”, was a pirate lord that terrorized shipping lanes of the Carribean during the 1720s. She was well known for consorting with demonic forces, and practicing dark magic in the pursuit of plundered wealth. Legend says that her buried stashes of treasure include powerful magical artifacts reclaimed from the sea floor.
Though she was typically the villain in modern retellings, Vara loved reading stories of Captain Redhand as a little girl. Later, she carried on Redhand’s legacy by utilizing the captain’s advancements in Wrothian glyph paint.
