Atari 800

In researching pre-Macintosh personal computers, you can't help but learn a lot about the Atari 400 and 800. I passed on my first opportunity to get an 800, so when this came up I was more decisive. So far I've opened the cartridge cover ... realized there's two cartridge slots under there... how did I not know that? It goes back to what I've said before...You don't really know the machine until you've looked at it first-hand. I was really interested in seeing the massive RF shielding they used, and it did not disappoint!

The memory bay is behind that, so I'm working on how to open that up. It will, of course, feature in my next video. Speaking of that, I'll put up a preview this week of the first 3 minutes to see what you think.

“Ah, Basic.. I see.”. That’s a great video find! He’s got a dream collector’s set-up there. I did not see that show back in the day and did not expect to see Luba Goy hosting. I remember John Candy doing an impression of her on SCTV. Thanks for sharing some great vintage Canadian content. I’m sure I can use something in my video just so I can reference TVO.

TVOntario is very disappointed in you. Your remedial homework is to watch the "Computer Languages" episode of Bits & Bytes. https://youtu.be/0Ttw9ks05G4?t=1183

Ha! Your comment is strangely prophetic of the actual preview - the home decor part, not Elvis. :)

The carpet commercial was a fine preview. I look forward to Elvis's other adventures in home decor in your next video ;)
