“What I’m” Wednesday!

Welcome to another edition of “what I’m” Wednesday, the day where I just kind of ramble on about what’s been happening in my life lately.

This Wednesday I wanted to talk about travel because it’s something I really haven’t been able to talk about in years lol. I’ve been on a few trips this year but the real travel is starting to begin. Conventions are back, concert are in full swing, and it’s finally starting to feel safe to go visit friends.

Pre cosplay, traveling was something I never got the chance to do. I would go to Toronto once a year for comic con and if I was lucky I would also make it to Montreal. The main reason for not going away much was the job I had was hourly with no vacation and that meant if I wasn’t working I wasn’t getting paid.

Once I got full-ish time into cosplay I realized that if I really wanted to make this a full time gig I really needed to start going to conventions to network and get new content. Luckily for me the whole cosplay thing took off and I started working at conventions which meant that hotels and flights were covered.

It’s honestly strange to think that I went from getting on a plane once a year to flying multiple times a month. This was incredibly exciting at first, but I’m sure anyone who travels this much know how much of a pain it can be. That was what started happening to me and I promised myself I’d travel less and only do paid gig so I could start to save a bit of money. Well that was 2019 and I’m starting to think I maybe have cause the pandemic by wishing travel would slow down.

Needless to say, the past few years have really got me excited to get out there and I’m happy to say that I’ve already planned out the rest of the year! I can’t wait to have so fun!!!
