Oooo my wish? I wouldn't know how deep to go with that one lol To keep it fun though if I won the dark tournament I would wish for the ability to fly or something like Jin! How about yourself?!

The idea of watching the live action is so exciting to me! I wonder if Patrons would be down for me to react to it after the series πŸ™‚

Animation definitely popped off on this one. Animator’s gotta flex every now and again. That said, the whole thing with Hiei I’d say was super symbolic of his change due to being apart of team Urameshi. He initially tried to control/dominate the darkness flame. That’s the way the old Hiei went about things. But once he stopped trying to control it, once he accepted it, it in turn accepted him. Both literal and figurative character growth. Koenma’s line about how if Hiei had that power when they first met, it’d be a whole other story kind of alluded to it. So yeah, now that we’ve confirmed what the prize is for winning, what do you think you’d wish for if you won the Dark Tournament?

This episode makes Kurama surviving a more even tradeoff considering he didn't win the match lol. I like the reason for the potion decreasing it's time usage to ultimately allow him to retain the power, but I can also see how it may feel like a stretch. I think Hiei's constant battle with the dragon was the risk he took and overcoming it allowed him to tame it/become it. More of his training and struggles could've been shown and that may have helped story wise. The live action does both of these fights justice too!
