The scene in his speech if you didn't tell Cove about that is hilarious to me. Man is so surprised you kept it a secret he wants to give you more money. He is a dork- and that's why we love him.

2022-01-19 07:11:01 +0000 UTCMy first real playthrough with this game, I went a whole 'found family' thing, not really all that fitting since the main character has a family, but upon learning of their adoption, I decided that family was going to be important to them. I took every chance to lean in when the game gave me an option to mention the idea of family, being/becoming family with the Holden family. If you spill the beans about you and Cove liking each other, Cove gets embarrassed, but Cliff is pleased, mentioning a Holden-[player character last name] clan. I liked that. I purposed to Cove at the end of step 3, and in step four you get the chance to call Cliff dad. I choked up at that. (Cove purposing is sweeter, but you don't have the option to call him dad unless you're already engaged) I think it's so fitting that at the wedding to his son, he's the last to give a speech. He thought he was helping his boy with a $20 bribe, but he ended up helping both his son and my character. There is a rightness to it all. It was thanks to him my character found Cove, and I think he's the best dad either of us could have asked for; even if he needs a stylist, he's still great. I can't wait to see what he says, and if I can say anything about his ill conceived, bribe that set everything in motion.

Joke asides of him being attractive which is a common joke in the fandom, I consider Cliff as a kind of friend/dad and I love the fact that he's the last one to speak, it feels like it's kinda more important. I mean, every character of course is important but it's thanks to Cliff that everything started and it's really nice, heartwarming and a bit sad that he's the one to end it and now I'm starting to realize how sad it will be once this experience with Cove will end, but not in a bad way. It's sad but also really nice, I don't really know how to explain myself XD

2022-01-17 21:41:58 +0000 UTCI never really had a proper father figure so I admire Cliff a lot, especially after listening to his and Kyra's stories of their marriage in step 3. I like how realistic their relationship is, and that no one was the bad guy, it was just them both being so young and unprepared. I can't wait for my surrogate dad to be able to speak at the wedding <3

2022-01-17 20:00:01 +0000 UTCYou can do the wedding DLC if you're already married. It's just framed as a legal marriage that already occurred and the big party part is only happening now. It's only unavailable if you're simply dating Cove or not in a relationship at all by the end of Step 4.

After all maybe the characters decided to elope, and waited until they had the money later to throw a big shindig with full guest list.
