Both would be nice gifts that my MC himself would have liked, and unless he knows the other person actually doesn't like the thing, he always tends to pick things he would have liked to receive himself. If we get more details about the items after picking them, I'll probably make my final choice depending on that. If the statue is a pretty animal or some aquatic theme thing or whatever, then probably that, but if the necklace is made with shells or stuff like that, it may lean towards that.

It's nice to look back on the card and remember the people I met. I'd consider other items but only if he expressed interest in them, when you have your own sense of style no matter how nice the sentiment the items from tourists shops will rarely see the light of day again >.<

Also me, buying Baxter the necklace: I want him to wear it daily even after he goes back home because it holds such good memories for him, but it also pains him to see hanging around his throat. I want him to be unable to bring himself to throw it away because he still cares deeply for MC. I want the guilt to eat him alive every time he sees it on himself in the mirror.
