Added 2022-12-18 19:00:03 +0000 UTCSchool's out and it's time for the next adventure in the neighborhood! The new Our Life 2 prologue demo is ready to go.
Important Notes:
- Saves from prior builds may not be loadable in this beta
- One background is currently only a sketch, the finished version will be in future updates
New Content:
- 14,000 words of new scenes
- New locations and a new music track implemented
- There's now sound effects throughout all the events!
- Small fixes to typos/errors from the prior build

2023-01-14 20:08:02 +0000 UTCI haven't been keeping super up with this game. I like coming back every few months or so and seeing a new version dropped. I really can not wait for the whole game. I loved the first one, and just in the beta of this on, I think the writing is as spot on. The creators really do wonders capturing the logic of a child. And I'm excited to interact with the characters in later steps. On a side note I nearly died of cute when Qiu said his reasoning for inviting my character to join his club was because '[My character] is pretty.' I liked that a lot honestly. I look forward to taking a journey with these characters.

2022-12-29 15:22:31 +0000 UTCSorry for the long message in advance. Im in love with the game so far, I loved the little details where the characters mention the clothes your mc decides to wear. Like how my mc had bandages on their face and the options were how they just wore them to look cool or that they got hurt/was actually clumsy. It made the game more personal to our MC's or it felt more immersive. I can't imagine the work you put in to add these nitty gritty details but I'm absolutely loving it so far and I appreciate it a whole lot. I also really liked that we got to steal candy, it's just a small thing but it's cute and adds a lot of character! The little adventure we had with Tamarack was really fun and I can't wait to find out what Qiu has to say about his hideout in the future when you decided to add your treasures to it. Loved meeting the boy's club and meeting Tamarack's grandparents. It was exciting to meet Baxter and how he was all the way in step one of his younger days! His little expressions to having a crush on Qiu was adorable. And seeing Darren's discomfort with girls in the flesh was really interesting and fun! I loved each of their relationships with each other and I'm really excited to see more future moments with this little gang. Granny and Tamarack's grandfather were lovely, their house is just beautiful. Granny is just so warm and welcoming, kind of felt bad to not have listened to her when we ran with Tamarack in the house, but it was funny at the same time. Seeing Tamarack's Opa for the first time was exciting despite him not wanting to be there very much. Makes me think about their relationship dynamic and how cute they are with their little home and family going on. Also when we could become best friends with Tamarack??? Seeing the little animation of our relationship change mid game after anticipating or being told about it for so long and finally seeing it in-game got me so estactic! I was really surprised! I know this game is going to be big and seeing this for the first time was just amazing! It's absolutely beautiful to see how far this development has come! :DD

I also played two different playthroughs, with different settings on the relationships, and it was refreshing to see new dialogue choices depending on (what I'm assuming) what you set your relationships to. My only bit of feedback is if at all possible, could we have our MC's nickname set to replace the full name? My second MC has a 10 character long name and it's overlapping the dialogue box on the left side, so having the option to use the nickname in place for the name tag might fix that issue. Or maybe moving it to the left just a few places could help too? That's my only qualm lol. Can't wait to see more <3

I don't know if you've already noticed it~^^ I didn't talk about it before because it's a slight bug and at worst, if we don't step back, it doesn't show~ I hope that you understood me, if your first language is French like me, I could rewrite the message to you in French, but your english is really good!(β’Μα΄β’Μ)Ω

2022-12-19 21:22:09 +0000 UTCI played through the expansion twice now, and Tamarack is the sweetest ray of sunshine!! Itβll be incredibly difficult to ever pick a more hostile/indifferent choice. I also enjoyed the additional scenes/dialogue. Those were a nice touch. The sound effects were also great. My favourite is when Qiu fumbles and stands from his hideout Fort. There were times where the sound effects would catch me off guard / they would be a bit loud but maybe Iβm just not used to them, and I shouldβve just adjusted the audio settings! Overall, super happy this was shared. The prologue feels like true childhood innocence to me.

When I try to go back after choosing a color (which comes after "I've got a favorite color, too."), speech bubbles that say "And..." and "Qiu took his trusty notebook out (etc)" appear. "And..." should appear when you chose "I've got favorite colors too." and "Qiu took his notebook" is a script that occurs after choosing a color not before choosing a color , so I think the scripts mixed up a little in this scene? Of course there is no problem when I play in a normal way. It just occur when I tap the 'back' key in this scene. I'm not sure I described this issue properly(english is not my native language) but I hope this helps developing the demo!

2022-12-19 03:07:55 +0000 UTCAah that was so cool! The new content was so sweet! And I'm defintely in love with Tamarack's house! Also, the new music track, when going to play outside with Tamarack, is so so pretty! I think it's my favorite track so far! Maybe you have posted a preview of it before, but it could have been when I wasn't subscribed to the patreon yet, so it was my first time hearing it regardless. That aside, I was very surprised at the fact we could get a status change in the midst of a step, too! I mean, I knew the relationships could evolve during steps, but I didn't expect to have a... "official" change, so to speak! It was a nice surprise! Felt very organic to me! You see, I've started the step with a "Neighbhors" relationship with Tamarack, cause it was what felt natural for my MC - he was still on the fence about her. But I was a bit worried it would prevent me from having some of the more friendly interactions with time, as they'd grow closer during the step. It was cool to see it could actually change like that. Oh, not exactly related to the new content, but actually I had some small issues that I kept noticing when replaying the various builds that I think are small continuity errors? Or at least they feel like it. I've left them unmentionned because well, the game is in very early stages, but maybe it's better to point them out, just in case? Maybe not a lot of people play the way I do and they just went unnoticed... --- My MC is a shy scaredy-cat. He's unconvinced by the move at first (picked the option to look blankly at mom), but at least is reassured by mom being there. When time comes to enter the house, my MC seems to be very excited about it, which is a bit strange considering the choice option I've picked previously. Then after that, inside the house, I've picked the option for the MC to think it's amazing, like out of a story book, which has a follow up that makes perfect sense where it says it's better than the MC let themself think it would be. Basically I'm going from being skeptic about it to being awed. Then when mom mentions school, I pick the option to be scared about it though. Now, when they are going upstairs, the narration says my MC sighs loud enough so that mom hears and knows he doesn't want to be anywhere near there, which in turn contradicts me picking the MC being amazed by the house once inside. So basically, the happy excited reaction before going inside of the house, and then the unhappy sigh reactions when going upstairs are both sort of strange in my continuity. I've mentionned selecting the MC is not happy about school just in case this is the reason for sigh thing being there. --- Also, about the Boy's Club, I've picked one of the options for my MC to be unsure about joining (the one with pressing their lips), but later on the narration says "Even though you didn't wanna be in it yourself, that club had been a lot of fun to meet" - maybe it shouldn't state sort of as a matter fact that the MC doesn't want to be in it if it's not a certainty for them, and could rather reflect that uncertainty? Again, with my MC being so scared and shy with people, it makes sense they'd hesitate, but that doesn't mean "no" either. I hope this helps! I had a lot of fun with this update, as usual!

One thing I do wanna note is that as the player and Tama are running through Granny's house to get to the back door, it sort of mentions the middle of the hall being the only clear space twice? And it felt a bit odd to read, I think u only need to mention thay layout once, idc. Still a wonderful update, I loved it!!!
