Month Beginning Post: February 2023 Plans

Hello again!

Thank you for all the well-wishes about how I've been doing lately :D. It's been a busy few weeks barely into the new year, and February might be even more of an achievement. Today, I've got this month's plans set out for anyone curious.

So, last month I finished completely drafting Baxter's story. But what I only mentioned in one of the earlier preview posts, is that the Step 3 script of his DLC is about 97% actually done! It's all properly written, at this point a handful of scenes are just being edited.

It goes without saying that it'll be done this month. The goal is going to be getting that all programmed so that this month’s beta build includes the rest of Step 3. That'd be huge. Normally one Moment comes out per update. If this works out, it'd be two full Moments, plus an extra scene during the 'and then summer ended' part of Step 3. That may be too ambitious, however I'm hopeful it'll come together. I'll do my best.

And since there's nothing left to draft and Step 3 is written already, I can spend my creative energy entirely on scripting Baxter Step 4. We'll see how many parts I can knock out in these coming weeks, but ideally it'll be a good few.

Along with that, I'll keep up with editing the scripts that get finished by the other writers on the team. They're also working on Step 4 now. Exciting times ✨

What I'm imagining is that this will be another super big month for Baxter and then progress will slow down the closer it gets to the second quarter of the year. I don't want to rush the entire thing and just throw it out. I want a more manageable pace for a couple months or so where we can make certain it's come together well. I also intend to begin working Our Life: Now & Forever back into my schedule in March. February will be the last month where there's no substantial progress on that project.

And that's where we're at! Step 4 Baxter's script is starting up, while the Step 3 section might end up in a full beta state. And all in February, the shortest month of the year, aha.
