BTS Pics: "Misogyny"

Hello lovely Patrons!

We just wrapped on a two day shoot for the next episode of Philosophy Tube, working title 'Misogyny.' (The real title won't be that.) Here are some pictures from the set!

In this episode I'll be talking about a lot of things, including Womanhood, Family, Economics, and Nationhood!

I've tried to give it a narrative structure: it starts with a small incident from my life and spins out into a big philosophical research journey

We go to some pretty dark places too - we'll be learning about fascism, in particular feminine fascism

We'll look at some women's history too

Including from the Mediaeval Era!

Huh, who put those newspaper articles there?

Brian Conway returned to do the styling, and he did a spectacular job as usual! This look was called 'The Red Witch'

Superb!

Nicki Buglewicz did the hair and makeup; she really challenged herself with the hair this time, and did an amazing job!

Look at those 40s curls! She's so skilled!

And then they comb out into this - how does she do it?

Fun fact, that apron's just mine - it's just the one I happen to own for when I do baking haha.

Wait, what do those newspapers say?

oh no...

OH NO!

I watched the video before I saw these photos so I had no idea that the Arsonist would make a reappearance; my jaw was on the floor. It was truly shocking in the most pertinent way to get the point across, I’m in awe. This is one of my favourite vids you’ve ever made, I really enjoyed the narrative structure in particular. There was a lot that resonated with me as a woman who is British, queer and disabled and who had to read Scruton’s bullshit for Musicology. I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry, amused and baffled by anything else I’ve read; it was exquisitely delicious to see someone more eloquent than me dive into it. Thank you for all of the incredible amount of work you put in to these videos, Abi, you absolute bloody queen. I can’t wait for the film! ❤️

I was so stoked to see this character back! I'm in such awe of you, Abi, you're such a fantastic artist. Thank you for this video!

I love how much fun you have with costumes and props. It obviously adds to the production value, but I get the feeling that's secondary to having fun, which makes it all the more genuine. Keep being awesome.

Love the wicked Julia Child look! Can't wait to see the whole video!
