2025-07-19 09:57:19 +0000 UTCI realize it is probably too late to re-edit the Jefferson video but you seem to say a couple of times that Jefferson helped draft the Constitution. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, but he was ambassador to France at the time of the Constitutional Convention (this is the point of the “What did I miss?” number in Hamilton), was not involved in its drafting, and is not one of its signatories (though he was involved in the drafting of the Bill of Rights). https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/founding-fathers This probably seems pedantic, since it is a well-entrenched idea that even most Americans probably believe…but my experience is that when I’m taking in something that is supposed to be informative or—especially—persuasive, running into something that seems like a misstatement of fact primes me to question everything else.

As Thomas Jefferson is talking about coercing native people into joining American society the fact that Jonathan frakes voices him, made me immediately think of the borg from Star trek. It's like we're assimilating them, depriving them of their individuality and forcing them to join our collective. I mean I guess they're still single individuals we're not a gestalt consciousness or anything but their culture is made to serve us. No different from the borg really. He might as well have said that resistance is futile
