Month Beginning Post: October 2024 Plans

Hi everybody!

Qiu and Tamarack have gotten into the Halloween spirit, haha. Don't ask how Step 1 Qiu knew what Baxter's young adult look was like, that's not important. The premise was them dressed as other Our Life leads and "rebel" Baxter and baby Cove were the funniest/cutest options. Look at Tamarack's little ribbon for Cove's cast, and Qiu added those eyes to the shirt by hand 😊

Anyway, about the update! You can read what was completed during September HERE. And this is what's going to be worked on next-

Monthly Content Plans:

The Step 2 prologue is FINALLY done. Those parts of a Step are always massive, the size of two very long Moments or three short ones. It's a relief to check it off the list. In October I'm gonna write the Halloween Moment for the teenage times, very fitting. I'll also choose a new Moment to fully draft.

And to keep the Halloween train going, Part 2 of Trick or Treat will be added to the Patreon beta build. That also might not be all. The hope is that the Qiu Sep 2 intro scene will be available as well! That has a CG, and last month it didn't even have a sketch to use in the test build, but that should change soon. The reason we're working on Step 2 programming again is in order to eventually add it to the public demo. That won't happen in October, but it won't be too much longer than that.

I'm going to continue the process of hiring a community manager. I'll be looking at applications and considering interviews. Someone should be chosen for the role before the end of the month. But if we have to do some complicated contract-creation, they may or may not be able to start work in October. We've hired other roles before, however a community manager will need a brand-new set of terms. If they do officially join, I'll be helping them get acclimated to the new role.  There's gonna be a lot of business-y stuff happening either way.

We'll see if anything else pops up over the next few weeks.

Thank you for reading my progress post! October is looking to be a month with a lot of set up, for expanding the team and getting the Step 2 preview update into a more playable shape. We'll all do our best to get it done ✨
