Project W Post: December 2024

Wow! Today's a day of celebration, as we all know. It's Project W Wednesday 🥳️

For the final month of 2024, I've got some actual reveals to share, plus some neat news about next year's Project W's posts.

First, I'm gonna tell you the season Project W is based on. It is... spring! Project W is all about plants and new beginnings and beautiful colors. Some people thought the W might stand for winter and that was a very good guess, but I'm afraid a snowy game will have to wait for whatever comes after Project W (if I'm able to make a game after that). It'd be pretty neat if I could make another project set in the same world as Project W with new characters and a winter theme, like there were two seasonal Our Life games. But that's getting way too far ahead of myself. Anyway, next month it will be very obvious that this is not a wintery game, so I decided to share that ahead of time to make this post more interesting.

The second reveal is the name of the "L"s that I talked about last month. The fantasy race that exists in the world of Project W, and that you will play as, is called "lumulle". I think that's pretty cute. I actually had a bit of a pattern of using names starting with "loo" in my games. Louis, Lucas, and Lu were three in a row. Our Life broke the streak and now it's coming back with the lumulles!

I'm sharing all this now because Patreon supporters will be learning a lot more about them in coming year. Starting in January 2025, and going for the entire year, images will come along with the monthly Project W post. I've begun commissioning the OL2 cut-in artist, talentlesshuman, to create cute educational diagrams/comics about various details of lumulles and their lifestyle. There's a lot to explain in order to fully grasp what it'll be like to start your life as a lumulle and I think fun infographics will be a lot more appealing than text dumps only.

[Also, don't worry, this won't impact OL2's development. It takes me way longer to write an entire Moment than it does for Tal to create the one or two or zero cut-ins that the Moment might have. So, this will allow me to commission an artist on the team more often instead of having big time gaps between work.]

There we have it. We're finally getting into some real info about this mysterious project! I'm looking forward to sharing even more with you all throughout 2025 🌷
