I think the Thesulac kept Judy alive so that he could keep feeding on her fear. The Thesulac was played by Tony Amendola, who I know from Stargate SG1, but he's been in lots of other stuff that you might know him from.

2025-05-22 18:58:12 +0000 UTCSetting the Thesulac's main hunting ground in the Hyperion Hotel during the Mcarthy Era was a stroke of genius this episode. Of course a paranoia feeding demon was going to be having an all you can eat chow down during this time period. Also love the subtle references to the Lavender Scare and the blacklisting of Hollywood screenwriters during the Mcarthy witch hunt for communists. The episode doesn't beat you over the head with it, but there's a lot of actual history weaved into this story.
