[WOTD] Satanichia redesign - Part 1: Concept

This is the first post of the redesign process for Satanichia, the queen of the underworld.

I’ve had some tough days, and it was hard to find inspiration and ideas for this redesign, but I finally feel like I’ve found the version of Satanichia that the remake deserves and needs.

As I mentioned in the first post about Ceina’s redesign, both she and Satanichia will look very different in this remake.

Let’s talk a bit about the original design and its development in the story so far.

Satanichia is Ceina’s twin sister and her counterpart as a divine being. That is, while Ceina represents God, Satanichia is supposed to represent the Devil.

So far, Satanichia hasn’t had much presence in the story. Her appearances and screen time have been limited, and that’s something I want to change.

Her attitude is aggressive, ruthless, and mocking, but I also feel like I can give her more depth. Although I want to maintain Satanichia’s original essence as a villain, I plan to make her more complex, with a cold and calculating personality.

As for her appearance, when I created the original design, the idea was for Satanichia to have the look of a succubus, with horns, wings, and a demon tail, along with provocative clothing. However, now I want her design to better reflect her level of power and hierarchy, especially since I’ll be introducing new female villains, Satanichia’s minions. So, her appearance should make it clear that she’s on a higher level.

Another important aspect of Satanichia’s backstory is that, long ago, she was an angel named Yubel. This will remain, but to show her transition to Satanichia, I want her design to include a visible touch of "corruption," as if she’s being consumed by evil. However, that transformation will have a deeper meaning that, for now, I can’t reveal because it would be a spoiler.

Hablemos un poco sobre el diseño original y su desarrollo en la historia hasta ahora.

Satanichia es la hermana gemela de Ceina y su contraparte como ser divino. Es decir, mientras que Ceina representa a Dios, Satanichia se supone que representa al Diablo.

Hasta ahora, Satanichia no ha tenido mucha presencia en la historia. Sus apariciones y tiempo en pantalla han sido limitados, y eso es algo que quiero cambiar.

Su actitud es agresiva, despiadada y burlona, ​​pero también siento que puedo darle más profundidad. Aunque quiero mantener la esencia original de Satanichia como villana, planeo hacerla más compleja, con una personalidad fría y calculadora.

En cuanto a su apariencia, cuando creé el diseño original, la idea era que Satanichia tuviera el aspecto de un súcubo, con cuernos, alas y cola de demonio, junto con una vestimenta provocativa. Sin embargo, ahora quiero que su diseño refleje mejor su nivel de poder y jerarquía, especialmente porque presentaré nuevas villanas, las secuaces de Satanichia. Por lo que su apariencia debe dejar en claro que está en un nivel superior.

Otro aspecto importante de la historia de fondo de Satanichia es que, hace mucho tiempo, ella era un ángel llamado Yubel. Esto se mantendrá, pero para mostrar su transición a Satanichia, quiero que su diseño incluya un toque visible de "corrupción", como si estuviera siendo consumida por el mal. Sin embargo, esa transformación tendrá un significado más profundo que, por ahora, no puedo revelar porque sería un spoiler.
