2025-12-25 17:12:11 +0000 UTCAaaaand season 5 (my favorite!) really takes off! Plenty of people find Dawn annoying, but I find her to be a well-written sister character. A bit immature to start perhaps, but she’s young and a nice foil to Buffy’s serious world-ness. Also, I find their dynamic to be well-written as far as siblings go. Opening on Dracula and following up with a new retroactive character dynamic? It’s the kind of writing moves you’d expect from a soap opera—which is how SMG and Michelle Trachtenberg know each other. Really bold moves from the writers this season! Glory is also my favorite villain.
