I have only seen a handful of episodes of Angel before. He was never my favorite character on Buffy, so I mostly just watched the cross-over episodes and a few others. But I love your reactions so decided I'd watch along for the first time with you. And wow, I really did not expect to love Darla and Angel and their nonsense so so much lmao. I've learned to enjoy Buffy and Angel together for the narrative arc it provides, but I never really loved watching them on screen as a couple. I always thought it was because I found it so over the top and kind of unhealthy. But I think I'm now realizing it is because I just sort of found them... boring. Because I'm discovering that I adore Angel and Darla. They are a million times more over the top ("God might not want you, but I still do"?? Like c'mon) and a million times more unhealthy (the definition of "they make each other worse" lol). But I am so here for it. They are toxically insane and insanely toxic and I want them to live happily ever fucked up after? I'm baffled by my own reaction but whatevs, I'm here for the ride and grateful that you've provided this exciting opportunity for me to revel in the absolute glorious mess that is these two 😂

Not only that though, it wasnt a week wait for the continuation, it was a whole month. The show took one of those mini-breaks after this, as shows back then sometimes did, to film new eps usually. They'd air reruns during this time and I remember always tuning in at the end to see if we'd get the "Next week, on an all new Buffy/Angel...".

Sure the latex appliance type make up is all cool and awesome, but it takes an extra level of talent to make someone look genuinely unwell without overdoing it. Also Lindsay using the term 'working girl' always makes me momentarily go 'Huh?', because as far as I know that's not a common slang term for a prostitute in the US.
