Here we have the concept for Twilight's original regression plans. They were to be non-gorey, to emphasize the gore in Celestia's transformation. But the commissioner changed his mind and we ended up doing gore.
Here's an idea of how it would have looked if we kept these concepts.
I quite like it myself how this regression works.
