Give me your opinions!

I'm still working hard on Book 4 (every chapter is 10k words minimum! I'm going a bit overboard with it). I've determined where the story ends, and have the plot sketched out already.

But...as I write, I want to ensure that audience members who are paying Patrons get to have some influence on how the story is shaped.

QUESTION FOR THIS POLL - Which relationships and 'slice of life' scenes do you want to see more of?

You can choose multiple options, and I'll squeeze in the top 3 into the story.

Comments

The Naila + Vael scene will appear in Book 4, Chapter 4 (Section 2) The Stellas + Thomas scene will appear in Book 4, Chapter 4 (Section 3) The Lyn Threesome 'fade to black' will appear further along (Still working on it!)

I mean a bunch of members could vote.

Segs.

Duke of Coffee

This made me guffaw. A little TOO comic relief for his characterization thus far.

Agreed, maybe for balance write a scene where Brad loses his prosthetic and has to hunt for it like a scene out of PG-13 Nancy Drew.

Kermit The Frog

No I agree. A friend of mine (NeonDreams) did a double-set of chapters for Second Summons; one for 'Zon/Kindle readers, and the other for Royal Road. And he lost Patrons during that shift. I'm of the mindset of you stick to your guns. So, if Lyn + The Twins is one of the top 3 by the end of the poll period, I will write a very charged, suggestive scene that is tasteful and would be fine on Royal Road. Also...it wouldn't come out of left field. We already know that Lyn dealt with her lack of control in her original 'Earth' home life by taking control of the only asset she could - her bodily autonomy.

Facts, Scribblehub has the UI of a website from over a decade ago and it's reader filters for finding new and upcoming fictions are garbage. But I do like the amount of creative freedom people have on it. As for sanitizing for different platforms, personally I find that it compromises the creative vision if an author has to remove parts of a book solely to adhere to platform morality clauses. Though that walks a fine line between editing for readability and creative freedom. I remember a couple years ago when a "rising star" fiction suddenly deviated into an extreme and grotesque scene of butchery that disgusted so many readers that RR took down the chapter. Never seen that happen before to an upcoming fiction. Anyway that felt more like it compromised the readability of the fiction rather than just describing sex or something. But that's just my opinion on it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd sanitize the Royal Road version and just take out that scene if I wanted to do that. As for Scribble Hub? I stopped posting to it. Too much effort without any way to see the metrics (unlike Royal Road, which has a ton of metrics for premium author accounts).

Seras Streams

Not to mention that RoyalRoad doesn't allow much explicit content on their platform, so one of the 2 biggest reading platforms wouldn't allow you on their site. (Scribblehub loves that shit tho).

Pff. I was warned by several web authors of note (Slyca, MelasDelta, NeonDreams, Actus) that I should never ever write smut/harem type stuff as that would basically make me hard to market to publishers. And I don't want to be known as a harem/smut writer (despite the income it could generate). I'm a High School teacher, and we do have a morality/ethics code we have to follow. If they found out I was writing such filth (lol), then they could argue a case for my dismissal.

Seras Streams

You refuse to write smut not because you can't, but because you fear the abilities it would grant you. 🐸🛑🍑
