"Reference" tuning with alternate bass settings
Added 2022-04-05 13:03:41 +0000 UTCHere you can find some additional bass settings which should offer you more lower bass boost for those who need it. The standard setting should offer a flat bass response that you would also get from a heaadphone with a flat bass. Depending on the unit and sample variation your unit may need either less or more bass reduction, my current setting seems to work quite nicely as average over all my units (black curve):
80Hz -13dB Q0.2
for more boost below 100Hz you can try the following setting:
100Hz -12.5dB Q0.24
This will give you the pink curve.
For even more bass boost try this which will result in the red curve:
110Hz - 12dB Q.255
These settings only affect bass as visible from the measurements and have little influence on the rest of the response.
ANC mode changes the sound of the Free Pro 2 compared to normal mode and transparency, so when using ANC the sound can become a bit boomy. Therefore I would suggest these settings if you use ANC regurarly as it makes ANC sound better, but doesn't worsen the sound in normal or transparency mode too much, I prefer less bass than too much bass to be honest:
90 Hz Gain -13.6 dB Q 0.22
400 Hz Gain -1.5 dB Q 0.9
1150 Hz Gain -3 dB Q 0.45
