[P.0.E] - Vanguard Armor (Jacket - Harness - Pants - Vest - Boots - Armor Plates)

11 body rigs, 13 material presets, Blend files for each body rig, and a Substance Painter file for coloring.

My Vanguard outfit consists of a variety of layered clothing pieces, including a sci-fi tactical vest, a jacket, pair of pants, anthro-shaped boots with optional armor plates, and a tactical harness. It is designed to be reminiscent of far-future science fiction character concepts, and works well in both military and casual sci-fi settings! All parts were concepted + modeled by me using Blender 3D and textured in Substance Painter.

= SETUP =

Requirements: Poiyomi (Shaders) Fury (Unity Setup, strongly recommended but not needed!), Unity 2019.4.31f1, VRC SDK3

  1. Create a new file in Unity 2019.4.31F1
  2. Import your VRC SDK, then Poiyomi, then Fury into your file.
  3. Import both your avatar and the clothing packages into your file.
  4. Drag clothing into armature
  5. Add VRC Fury (Script) component to clothing
  6. Click + in script
  7. Select Armature Link
  8. Open clothing, drag hips bone into Armature link Root bone
  9. Add VRC Fury (Script) component to avatar.
  10. Add whichever materials you wish to use to the armor/jacket/pants.
  11. Build/Publish the avatar, this will automatically migrate the bones from the clothing to the avatar, as well as upload the avatar to VRChat!
    • Note: You will require upload permissions to import the avatar.


= PERFORMANCE=

While the outfit is joined by default to reduce mesh renderers, they are easy to separate using the included vertex groups for selection + deletion. Below are the triangle counts of each component, of which will vary based on your customization choices.

For best performance, we recommend deleting sections of your mesh avatar hidden by the clothing, as this will reduce your triangle count, material number, and reduce possible clipping with the garment!

Note that body thickness/plus-size shape keys may not work for all avatars, given that the outfit was created with athletic shapes in mind.
