1989 Music Videos REACTION!!!

I thought the bad blood video was intentional to be a big build up to a slap like the media blew things out of proportion the it was a big massive never talk to each other again thing and it was so deep but in reality it was a small bicker

2025-05-20 08:27:03 +0000 UTCIâve always loved Taylorâs MVs and I think 1989 has some of the best ones and it just got better throughout her carreer :)

2025-05-19 15:38:18 +0000 UTCSadly, most of the women in the Bad Blood MV were her friends until reputation.. and it seems like most of them distanced themselves from her when she was being âcanceledâ by the public after the Kanye and Kim phone call, during eras it seems like she rekindled a couple friendships but from what we can see they were not as close as before (besides Selena, and I think Gigi)

2025-05-19 15:37:06 +0000 UTCThat's the ALLEGED reason of why they stopped being friends. None of them really confirmed it. I think something else went on behind the scenes, relating to SOMEONE that they both had a relationship with đ if you know, you know. But that's also speculation so all that matters is that they're friends now and the problem was solvable.

2025-05-19 11:43:59 +0000 UTCI always interpreted Wildest Dreams as being likeâŚafter filming ended, he got engaged to someone he hadnât told her about, and it took her by surprise. And thatâs why she lip syncs the, âjust pretendâŚâ in the part right after. My fav part of that one is the reveal that the beautiful location shots were all imagined and it was just a painted backdrop in a dingy set. I feel like I get something new no matter how many times I rewatch these, though, including Shake It Off. Ugh, the DRAMA about that music when it came out. Accusations of cultural appropriation for including twerking and dehumanization for that leg tunnel. But itâs just a visual parallel with ballet, where she hops OVER the dancersâ legs. I always really liked that music video because it felt like she portrayed all of the dancers as super skilled professionals and herself as a clown who canât fit in with any of these cool kids. But people fixated on her Oh My surprise face when she failed at twerking to say she was mocking it. And like. No. It was a BIT. That âoh my goshâ face was a thing she did at the time that the media liked to make fun of. She wasnât making fun of the dance or dancers. She was making fun of herselffffff. đ Itâs especially clear in the behind the scenes vids imo. You should definitely watch the behind the scenes for any videos you liked, but also I think that her Grammy Museum presentation will affirm so many of your interpretations of the songs. And the performances sound AMAZING⌠The drama with Katy Perry was crazy, girl, you have NO idea. Has anybody told you what went down? Katy Perry is five years older than Taylor Swift and sorta acted as friend or mentior when Taylor came on the scene⌠But in the MIDDLE of the Red tour, Katy hired Taylorâs backup dancers out from under her. In the middle of the tour! Do you know how long rehearsing choreo and costume fittings and everything take? (I was in community theatre as a kid.) Taylor felt like Katy had tried to sabotage her whole tour⌠And honestly I agree? I think Katy was pretty clearly in the wrong, and her actions could have ruined months of shows if things had gone poorly. Why pick THOSE dancers? Katy was 27 when she did this, if Iâm getting my math right. Thatâs not exactly too young to know better. And when Taylor talked about it Katy started subtweeting her and stuff. Admittedly, Iâm biased against her because she stole a first kiss from a guy who was saving it and clearly uncomfortable with her behavior. When she was judging singing. He was just there to sing but she was harassing him like crazy. At least that was how it felt watching the episode. So I just dislike her in general. đ Sorry to any stansâŚ

2025-05-19 03:49:25 +0000 UTCAnother interesting aspect of the 1989 era is "the girl squad". It was basically what the media called Taylor's large but close knit group of female friends. A lot of the celebrities in the Bad Blood MV were part of the squad and Taylor explained that they just supported each other and had a group chat where they all talked about life. However, with the media starting to turn on Taylor in 2016 (cough Kanye and Kim cough) and one or two members of the squad turning their backs on Taylor during the big hate train, the girl squad broke apart and it was villanized by the media. They portrayed it as Taylor starting a tyrannical hot girl cult when it really was just Taylor trying to have a group of female friends that she lacked growing up. So that's another interesting part of this era. After the immense success of 1989, everything started falling apart thanks to K*nye and K*m. Which led to the Reputation era. I can't wait for you to get to it ⨠â¨

2025-05-18 15:15:27 +0000 UTCYour reaction to Shake it Off has me SCREAMING đđđ imagine what it was like at the time, people knew Taylor's music videos from Debut, Fearless, Speak Now and Red and now all of a sudden we have Taylor in gold chains, crawling under women twerking. I mean, Shake it Off has just become too iconic. (however one of my biggest pet peeves is that it was Taylor's most viewed MV, until recently when Blank Space surpassed it and I was so thankful đ¤Ť)
