Lucas and Theo (the blessed demon)

It’s a short cute story I had, where Theo (the story is set as their adult selves))  who became an accomplished exorcist well known around their country. he travels many places to ward off evil spirits, complete exorcisms, and grant protection spells to desperate and vulnerable people. They remember their village one day and come over to visit for a few months, a necessary break in his Relentless work. however, Theo hears about a story of a demon, who lives far up the mountain. The villagers recount of a lost child who came back no longer the same, and who asks for a favor in return For the villages protection. the answer was never known and since then, the demon has lived there, quietly but ever so presently.
upon investigating, the demon welcomes his arrival, kindly And happily conversating with them. By the end of the day, Theo leaves shocked and bewildered, but couldn’t help but think… that this demon is familiar.  Theo visits again. And again. Everyday he learns one more thing. their name, Lucas, that their expecting, loves vegetables and tea, eats pesky demons, and is waiting for their partner to come back.   One day Theo finally asks Lucas one question, “what was the favor?”  And Lucas responds, “to live by your side, as friends.”
then Theo remembers why Lucas felt so familiar.
Lucas was the childhood friend that went missing. They left before he knew of what happened. 

“ I missed you”, Theo cries.  for by the days that went, Theo stopped thinking of exorcising the demon, but instead have grown familiar, affectionate, and happy, just like how he remembered his time with with their best friend all those years ago.
theo told the villagers, and they rejoiced. the demon was a kind spirit instead, who only Wishes for their acceptance, and some vegetables of course.  for Theo soon left to go back on Their duties, Lucas waits for their return once again, with welcome arms as they’ve always done before.  
and that’s how it goes roughly. the partner is to be revealed as well, and they actually all co-parent, Theo acting as the visiting uncle For the child.  I was planing it to be a polygamous, and somewhat it is, since the story i Described was in large strokes, and the intricacies aren’t established.
either way, it’s a lovely short story with a happy ending.
