in this world, which is set in the murim, where martial arts reigns, demons are a random possibility of being born out of womb. they are rare and are less than one percent. even rarer, demons have a hierarchy where you can be born with or develop the strength to attain. the rarest and considered myth is the devil, a being where only the female can produce demons 100% of the time. they are at the top of the hierarchy and are regarded as innately strong.

story- the mc is a demon born 500 years in the past, where demons were still regarded as bad omens, sometimes even assumed that they have replaced children in the womb, but this idea was thrown out as demons still have all the genetics of their parents and will also pass down those said genetics, to their likely human children. demons cannot be genetically passed down, with the devil as the only exception. he was recruited/kidnapped as a secret soldier in the blood cult, who where the first cult to utilize demons for military purposes. at least outwardly. the orthodox sects were still on the fence and even against demons from existing. anyways, unlike how the orthodox treated him, like a slave, the blood cult atleast gave him a fighting chance, where only the strongest reign supreme. in that sense, the blood cult was the fairest of them all. why were the demons being kidnapped or given to the blood cult? because demons have at least twice the strength of a normal human. even more so the higher the rank they are born with. this realization was useful for increasing millitary forces with the upcoming orthodex/blood sect war. as a devil, he increased in the ranks and participated in the war, but was defeated in the end of it.

he was then reborn into a loving wealthy merchant family 500 years later. unlike his hard and cruel past, his human family loved and cherished him deeply, even excited that they have brought forth a demon into the family. the world changed for the better in those 500 years, many demons survived the battle and even worked with humans to restore society. in the midst they created fairer and even favorable outlooks towards demons, who are no longer considered bad omens. in fact, now considered good luck, due to the fact that they are innately stronger than the average human, and is capable of much more. where strength is a model to follow off of, no wonder demons had better reputation after all those years. his mother's father, the patriarch, had 3 wives who then had many more children. he was one of many grandchildren. still they all lived well and no wife was considred superior to the other, and even fostered and deepened their relationship with each other. another surprise to the mc, who by all accounts, was used to backstabbing, authority grabbing, vengeful people. in this large family owned merchantry, he had to wait till he is 20 in order to then be ready to view the outside world with his own eyes. from then he was largely relegated to the inside of the home, visitors occasionally passing by. only one time did he had to leave before 20, and that was to attend a funeral.

moving on, the main point comes from the orthodox faction, which the main character despise, and the blood cult, where the main character is fond of. in the blood cult there are two factions. one who wants to revive the old ways, claiming that the blood cult has gone soft on their enemies, which the mc does agree with, and the other faction prefers the status quo. there's an ongoing territorial dispute between the inheritors of the blood cult. largely of the 1st and 3rd sisters. on of these sisters decides that in order to succeed the thrown she must marry into the merchant family, who has been known to help them during times of crisis, but similarly has helped the orthodox faction to maintain its neutrality. by breaking the neutrality, she can have the wealthy merchant family to the blood cult themselves, gaining all the benefits while the orthodox loses their support. she goes off to send letters, gifts, and all sorts of things in order to butter up mc's father and the patriarch. marriage talks have been initiated. while she was getting that done, the mc and her have a conversation that started on a bad foot. she was disrespectful and the mc would not stand for it, while he doesnt care if he is married to her or not, aslong as she is respectful of him. he knows they need him and not the other way around and she has to treat him as an equal partner in this discussion. she abides and apologizes not before the 1sr sister decides to intrude and attempt to break down marriage negotiations and instead have him marry her. but due to her rash and disrespectful decisions , she inadvertently completely ruins her chances and is sent back. this solidifies the 3rd sisters position for the throne and the 1str sister has to apologize and make things right, and her punishment didn't end there, she was set back from the battle of succession as well. either way, upon hearing that marriage talks where happening between the blood cult and merchant family, the orthodox decided to counter with a marriage proposal on their end as well. comes in the strongest of her time, a kind and open hearted lady who has a hard time grasping how cruel people can be. the merchant family seeing the opportunity to stay neutral would accept the proposal as well given the condition of having two wives instead of one. all this is done with the permission of the mc, who despite the fact that the patriarch can do whatever he wants, still listens to his beloved grandson. the mc loves his family dearly and doesn't want to cause them any harm, so he sets to protect them in the ways he can, which include this marriage. while he does have a hard time grasping at the fact that his family is so powerful despite being so weak strength wise, he knows that he cares for them and will be the strongest in his own way to protect them. anyways the sweet lady reminds him of his family and is fond of her, while he is also fond of the blood cult lady, who reminds him of the old days of the blood cult, the only place that gave him the chance to rise in the ranks and be respected. with this marriage agreed upon, much to the dismay of the blood cult and the orthodox, realizing this is how the merchant family is staying neutral while also keeping their promises, and even having the added benefit that now the orthodox and the blood cult can't actively target each other anymore.

in the story the blood cult lady has issues with the orthodox lady, thinking that shes scheming to get power over her, when nothing of the sort happens. through many misunderstandings but eventual communication and realization, they set aside any ill will and work together to be in a healthy 3 way relationship. just like how mc's patriarch has his 3 wives and they made it work. the mc is revealed to be a devil especially confirmed when he has children, who all keep coming out as demons. this makes their marriage especially so important, as the devil is considered myth, but als o immensely strong, enough to make any one below him unable to look at him in the eyes. though this only works to fellow demons, the humans are none the wiser. as the orthodox and blood cult know of this fact, they attempt to continue skewing the favor to their side, leading to many shenanigans.

in one scene, in the blood cult there is a customary battle competition, where people would show off their strengths. this include the married couple to be, where even the wife and husband fight each other to establish hierarchy. on of the methods is to make marks on a hardy rock. in order to confirm the strength of mc, they switch out the rock into something as hard as diamond while still appearing the same. in order to fit in the main character believes the rock is the same rock, and ends up sliding his hand in like its butter. he didn't do a very good job controlling his strength. only a select few know that the rock has been switched and that included the blood cult lady, realizing just how big of a jackpot she got when deciding to marry him.

thats all i have! this came from a dream of mine, and the details where hashed out with a friend of mine discussing the timeline. its all vague and all but it at least has a beginning and end.
