i usually go with the flow while considering their background context. so all my characters in their aus all have slightly different personalities due to their bg and backstory. since lucy here is a priest who was raised in a temple with strict doctrines, he has both an elegant way oof speaking, mixed with honesty and guilt. lilith also raised in the temple but discriminated against, is semi meek but also disillusioned with doctrine due to hypocrisy. he speaks in acknowlegement of faith but also in spite of it. usually i change dialogue quite a bit before i agree on it, so it takes a few tries ( though not this case). these backdrops help form an idea on how they would speak. all this is kinda done in seconds after i have an idea, and finished drawing/writing their backstory for guidance.
