Character update - 13/07/19

Long story short, I finally finished writing my hair plugins (following the same general technique described in the last post). The good news is that they seem to work exceptionally well. I don't quite have everything integrated into the character rig as much as I'd like, but at the very least it's already gotten me "riggable" hair guides that follow around with the head which is all I really wanted in the first place.
The bad news is that as a result of this, I've rammed into several other issues that prevent this particular setup from actually working properly. They have workarounds, but the workarounds carry serious limitations which I'd rather not deal with because then I'm just trading annoyances for annoyances and not actually saving any time in the end (which kinda defeats the entire point of setting up hair like this in the first place).
I've been vaguely aware of the fact that these issues might become an actual problem for a while now, though I was kinda hoping I could just ignore them until I'd finished the sequin sequence. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to fix them now rather than later, which means writing more code (yaaaaaaay... I just... love writing code!... not). I don't think they'll take too long to fix (certainly not as long as it took to write the hair plugins), and then I'll finally be able to get back to work on the pool scene and start on some sequence stuff.
