The car scene wasn't a green screen. It was a movie screen and the scenes where projected from behind. Yes that was Robert Stack who hosted Unsolved Mysteries. This came out in 1980, so most of the jokes and gags where from 70's pop culture. The mental hospital flashback that was actually Ethel Mermen who was a famous movie and broadway actress. The director and writers next spoof movie was Top Secret w Val Kilmer. It's very funny.

2025-08-20 04:32:04 +0000 UTCIf you enjoyed this, then there is a sequel. You might also like the Naked Gun films (1988, 1991 & 1994), starring Leslie Nielsen - he was the doctor in Airplane. Try also Clue (1985), starring Tim Curry and Murder By Death (1976) which has a stellar cast.
