I wonder how much you understood about Dobby, since it is not explained all that well in the movie. The houseelves enslavement is magical. Houseelves are magically bound to never expose any information about the family they serve. They are forced by spells to punish themselves if they disobey or disrespect their masters. Dobby is physically fighting this the whole movie. He cant give up any specifics and his body is betraying him, when he tries to tell Harry something.
