Dev Update 01/2024: Even more content in V0.09!

Happy New Year to everyone!

I'm kinda going complete overboard with V0.09, adding more and more content...
But the good news is that development time won't be impacted significantly by it.

I have already shown you the main content of V0.09 in this post.
In today's post, I'd like to introduce you to more features, comming with V0.09.
These are mainly "quality of life" changes that will benefit the open world.

Tooltips

With V0.09, tooltips have been added to the game.
There is now a small hint window for clickable objects. You should be able to navigate Shattered Minds more easily now.

Study

You can now use the college library to get some XP. This should be particularly helpful in the early game. 

Open World interactions for Sarah and Eleanor + new lip symbole

By popular demand, each of you subdued women will now receive at least one sexual open world interaction. Including this, the animation count raises even higher! Instead of the announced 25 new animations, we now have 28!

The conversations menu will now display a lip symbol to indicate whether a conversation option contains a sexual act.

Moaning sounds

In a poll I started last week, I asked if the erotic scenes should feature moaning.
There was a resounding yes vote from you. 

79% voted yes. Thank you very much for your participation!

Since so many people want it, I'm already going to include moaning in V0.09. Moaning will be added to all sex scenes already in the game.

I have read your concerns and comments under the poll and would now like to respond to them:

There won't be " individual moans" for every woman. I simply can't find that many women who would record sound files for that purpose, especially not on Fiverr + doing this would also considerably extend the development time.
In fact, I tried reaching out to a few via Fiverr, but got an instant ban for violating Fiverr's TOS and community guidelines. Turns out they prohibit the use of their platform for ANYTHING sexual/adult themed.
I also can't take moaning sounds from porn clips. As pointed out, this would not sound good at all. On top of that, I'm not allowed to do so, as I have no rights to use these sounds.

My solution:

I bought an audio file (with all the necessary rights) containing 1:30 minutes of a woman moaning.
I have split this sound file into 18 individual files, each of which contains 1x moan.

Then I wrote a code that selects and plays one of the 18 files in random order (including some pauses in between).
So the "moan" always sounds the same, but due to the different order of playback it is different every time. I'm satisfied with the result and it doesn't extend the development time.
Just give it a listen for yourself and decide whether you like it or not! If you don't like it then:

Moans and tooltips can be turned off or on in the options

Tooltips can be deactivated completly in the options menu.
It is also possible to adjust the volume of the "moaning sounds" or turn them off completely.

This gives you the opportunity to continue playing the game the way you want!

Release period of V0.09

V0.09 will be my most comprehensive update so far.
It will be ready for release in mid-February, more exact dates will follow!
