Hi friends! Above is art by Danilo Lisik which I commissioned as the cover for the upcoming (when, I have no clue) reissue of my out-of-print 2017 novel My Sister's Boyfriend (here's a link to the story that inspired the novel). I love it so much! More info if/when I ever receive it from my publisher...things move slowly in that realm.
Yinz...I've been writing. I've felt more driven and inspired than I can remember feeling in a while. I'm working on the sequel to Biology Lesson this week, and I have a couple other stories that I may or may not finish, eventually.
All I want to do, lately, is write and listen to music. Specifically: Burial. And The Cure. Dark, moody music that makes me feel like I'm in a movie, or in another dimension. Music is saving my life right now. I kept thinking I wanted to force myself to go out, to be around people. And I probably still need to do that, to some extent. But what I really want to do, what I'd almost always rather be doing this time of year, is going inward.
Death is all around lately. Have you noticed? We're still in tough times, friends. I hope you're taking care of yourselves.
More fiction next week.
xo,
Natty
