Comic for Friday 5/13 (Early High Res)

I feel this is basically a law of the universe: If you express on the internet that you found any level/boss/game challenging, there is at least one condescending person out there that has to chime in to tell you that they didn't find it difficult.

Bonus points if they suggest you lower the difficulty/"git gud"/play a different game.

To be fair, that's mostly an issue with the slimy pay-to-win games that exist solely to frustrate you into parting with your credit card number. Not all MMOs are like that. WoW is increasingly becoming that way, but FFXIV is still awesome from that perspective. Heck, they went in and revamped a bunch of the old dungeons this most recent patch so players could solo them with a team of NPCs (since those instances are steps in the main storyline), so players didn't even have to wait for queue times on the instances. Their goal is that basically everything except their 3 properly difficult content types at endgame (extremes, savage, and ultimate, in increasing order of difficulty) is completely doable by even the most casual player that just kinda hits whatever button they feel like. If you're burned out on MMOs because of slimy crap like New World, highly recommend you give FFXIV a try. it really is a breath of fresh air from all those P2W pieces of crap. Edit: oh, also, while FFXIV is subscription-based, the "trial" is literally the entire base game and first expansion, with no time limit. It's something like 60-80 hours of gameplay just worth of main storyline, plus a bunch of other stuff, entirely for free. And then if you end up subbing, there's now 3 more expansions, each of similar content length. It took me _months_ of gameplay time to get through just the main storyline of the base game and the expansions.

I stopped playing New World because my company didn't understand why I was frustrates because it was "easy." Yeah its easy when the company runs you through stuff to power level you and give you stuff. It's not easy when you have to do everything yourself. I love the social aspect of MMOs but I hate them because of stuff like that.
