Interlude – Peeping the Future

「……………………………tsu!?　Fuaaa!?」

Sister Claire who was enjoying her freedom by gulping alcohol like it was water suddenly let out a strange voice.

Her bodyguard, the female knight Sylvia looked back while wondering  what could be the matter. She found Sister Claire turning bright red  while pressing her hands on her cheeks.

「Why are you turning bright red like that? Are you drinking too much  alcohol? Or perhaps the snack that you filched from the village was  unexpectedly spicy?」

Sylvia asked with a tone that sounded half exasperated. She was  surprised by Sister Claire’s state but she thought it would be just  something stupid again anyway.

「No, that’s, it’s……」

Sister Claire looked extremely flustered for some reason.

「I got a divine message just now……it seems you and I will become sisters……」

「Sisters?」

Sylvia was startled to hear that.

Them becoming sisters.

The meaning of that was clear.

「I-in other words, you just saw who my marriage partner is going to be?」

Sister Claire and Sylvia were childhood friends, but they were still unrelated by blood.

They both were the only child of their respective family. For them to  become sisters with each other could only be achieved by marrying two  brothers somewhere.

Sylvia had been raised with tough and strict upbringing since her  childhood, but as a girl in that age there was no way she wouldn’t  become curious about her future husband.

「W-what kind of person he is? You said that you saw the possibility  of becoming the husband of that young man Eriol, so perhaps it’s his big  brother……?」

「Eh? Aaa, no no, it’s not something like that.」

Sister Claire’s face stayed bright red as she shook her head at Sylvia’s words.

「We will be sisters but to be more accurate…………as pole sisters.」

「……………………………Ha？」

「What’s more it seems that the one who will make us sisters will be  that Eriol-sama……w-what to do? I don’t mind being together with that  Eriol-sama but, for me to get into that kind of relationship with  you……it’s, really unexpected……」

「Hold on! That won’t happen, definitely not! No matter what that kind  of outrageous……!? Just what in the world would happen that such future  can come true!? ……Ah, that’s right! You’re just playing prank on me  again aren’t you!? Let me tell you that I still haven’t forgotten how  you told me a lie 『The dinner will surely be Redbone Bull’s meat if you  run a lap around the church while wearing panty on your head without  being seen by anyone』when we were children!」

「I think the fault for that lied more on you for believing something  like that……no, more importantly, this divine message is real. W-what do  we do……」

「Impossible! I won’t believe you this time!」

Sister Claire was in a dither with bright red face, while Sylvia kept  being in denial 「Besides your divine revelation isn’t something  absolute!」.

The two who were filled with embarrassment and confusion kept clamoring noisily for a while after that.
