Chapter 2: Sometimes You Need to Risk Your Life For Delicious Food

After parting with Lilith, I immediately drive away in Orc Car. The driver isn’t me but Kururu and Tita doing it alternately.

It’s impossible to drive Orc Car without vast amount of magic power.  To say nothing of the sea cruising mode, the fuel consumption is even  worse than.

However, thanks to their power increasing from making love with me, they are able to drive this vehicle.

It’s the blessing of Evol Orc’s power that share the orc’s power to  strengthen the female’s body in order to protect the mother’s body by  making them robust enough to bear a child.

「It’s really fun driving this thing!」

「Yes, it feels good. Besides, Ork-san’s driving is scary, so driving this ourselves feels reassuring.」

「Oi, what do you mean by that?」

The two of them stared unblinkingly at me.

Orc Tornado, that is the Ma○nam signature move of the little brother  of a certain wild racer siblings. After getting course out, the vehicle  will rotate and fly in the air as shortcut. (TN: Yeah, I don’t know the  reference for this, help.)

Especially for Kururu who has sharp sense from being a fox beastman. It was hell.

There a firefly squid is swimming.

(As I thought, even though my sub circuit is alive, I can just use it like that.)

In that case, I’ll add the noise into my calculation. I’m paying a  lot of careful attention because the noise’s wavelength changes depend  on the mana amount.

Even so I somehow managed to complete the magic formula.

「Water stream manipulation……next wind stream floatation.」

I made an unnatural water stream around the firefly squids that  coincidentally swim nearby at this timing. The firefly squids got pushed  up together with the water and out of the sea surface.

And then it becomes a sphere of water that float lightly in front of us three.

……I took three times longer than usual to activate the magic.  Furthermore even though I imagined a perfect sphere, the result is  warped. The precision is also bad. As I thought, this is the limit for  the current me.

「There are sparkling firefly squids in a water tank in front of us, it’s like a fairy tale.」(Kururu)

It seems the two of them aren’t bothered by how I botched the magic.  They are staring at the firefly squids imprisoned inside the water  sphere with sparkling eyes.

I use one more magic. This time it’s analysis magic. ……Yosh, there is no parasite in them.

「The best way to eat firefly squid is by eating it alive. Like this, you grab a live one and eat it right away.」

It has a chewy texture, and the way the tentacle suck the inside of your mouth is sensual.

First I can taste the saltiness of sea water and the sweetness of the  body. Then when I bit, the rich deliciousness of the internal organs  flooded out.

Of course it’s also completely fresh because it was alive until now.

It feels like eating life.

Eating a live firefly squid is one of the greatest luxuries.

It’s Kururu who first give it a try.

She put it into her mouth without hesitation, and chew…….

「This is-, it’s extremely delicious! I like this better than fish.」

It seems that the two of them like it.

And then, even while saying that it’s a shame, they keep eating the firefly squids from the water sphere until it become empty.

I snapped my fingers to move the water sphere until outside the Orc  Car before letting go of the mana. The water sphere become just a water  and fall down to the sea.

(This is painful. Not only the magic’s result is terrible, the  fatigue is also really staggering. Just maintaining it for several  minutes is my limit.)

If he is in a perfect health, he’ll be able to control the magic for an hour easily.

「That was delicious. Can’t we catch them at shallow water too? I want to eat them even on land.」

「I heard that sometimes firefly squids can get washed away to the shallow water.」

「Then we can still eat them even after going back!」

It looks like Kururu has really taken a liking to it. Her fox ears  are pointing straight up. On the contrary Tita doesn’t look like she is  really that enthused.

「But, it will be better if you don’t try eating it when I’m not there.」

「Why is that?」(Kururu)

「Sometimes there are parasites living in the firefly squid. If you  eat that then it will gnaw the inside of your stomach, make you blind,  or give you disease. It’s really not a laughing matter at all.」

Eating firefly squid alive is really delicious.

It’s also favored by gourmets.

However, a considerable risk accompanies it. That is parasite. Every  year there are always health hazard that resulted from firefly squid’s  parasite. Even so there are always those who know of how delicious it is  taking the risk of eating it alive.

「You made us ate something like that!?」

「I had properly sent sonar using magic power to check that there  wasn’t any foreign matter in them. By the way, the probability that  there was parasite in them is 2%.」

I too want to eat some more, and it will also serve as rehabilitation for my magic.

I’ll use magic again after resting for a bit.

Let’s try using earth element magic next. It will become a nice  litmus test to see whether I can create a water tank exactly like in my  imagination or not.
