Chapter 17: Customer is God, But Even God Has Various Kinds

As expected, the inside of the café became a battlefield.

However, the staffs are people who that Zacharic claimed as super first rate. They are serving the customers promptly.

They are very quick witted.

For example, when some of them judged that the inside of the café has  enough manpower, they cut some tiramisu, packed them, and started  selling them outside.

Seeing that the customers who only cared about eating tiramisu bought them as souvenir and went away from the line.

The vigilante corps also came to manage the queue. This too is thanks to Zacharic making the arrangement.

I thought that they would need various instruction and support, but I  judged that I can leave this place to them and left early than planned.

「And so I can focus on my own work now.」

「Is it really okay that we are going back to the mansion?」

Yes, just as Tita said, I’m returning to the mansion.

「I understand your feeling, but this isn’t a bad thing for both Ork  Company and also Zacharic Company. ……Saying it this way sounds bad but,  the profit from them will be thousands of times greater than the normal  customer.」

The major merchants of other city or country will naturally have  enormous distribution networks. If they take a liking to coffee and  sugar, they will order them in tremendous amount.

We also should form connection with nobles and royal families. For  example with coffee bean, it’s something that still hasn’t been taxed.  Depending on whether we can have them put on good words for our products  or not, the way of those items spreading into the market will change  completely.

No matter how good a product is, the masses won’t be able to get  their hands on it if it got highly taxed and became unattainable.

「I still can’t accept it.」

「I think it’s fair though. Because, the amount of benefit that Ork  can get from them is in a different scale, so treating them the same  with normal customer will be more unfair instead isn’t it?」

「That might be true, but still」

「There are two types of fairness. Fairness of recompense, and  fairness in regard to the end result. When doing business, it’s normal  to prioritize the latter.」

Tita who is studying to be a merchant has different perspective from Kururu.

It’s difficult to be fair.

For example there is a capable employee and an incompetent employee,  should it be called fair or not if both of them are paid the same  amount? Certainly the situation can be said as fair based on their  treatment, but it’s unfair if we considered it from the amount of work  that each of them accomplished.

A merchant will want to prioritize people who give them bigger profit rather than treating all of the customers equally.

「I understand! This is work after all.」(Kururu)

「Yeah, besides, I can also entertain the great sage because of this kind of work.」

「We have to work hard with that too. He won’t heal Ork if we can’t make him happy.」

「Yeah.」

That’s not all, I have something to request him after serving him tiramisu.

The tiramisu and coffee are greatly popular. Many large dealings were also decided right there. Things are going smoothly.

The great sage is wearing clothes that are well made but designed to  blend among the festival’s visitors. His hands are holding boxes of  foods that they purchased from stalls, and he is wearing a mysterious  mask. It’s an appearance without any dignity or majesty……it should be  like that, and yet he is radiating an atmosphere that made me felt his  transcendental wisdom and power as a sage.

Yes, he is the person who I have to convince no matter what to treat my magic circuit.

「I’m here you stupid disciple. As promised, I’ll have you serve us  with sweets that cannot be eaten anywhere else in the world other than  here.」

「Yes, allow me to prepare my prided masterpiece for everyone.」

The great sage who knew everything there is to know in this world.

I’ll serve that great sage with an unknown taste that even he never ate.

It’s something that I myself proposed, but that’s an immeasurably high hurdle.
