Chapter 22: The Main Character Will Return Stronger After Getting Seriously Injured

How many times we have annihilated that demon king dog?

But, each time that happened it would manipulate causality to make its annihilation to never happen.

I have no more mana……what’s more.

At first it was nothing more than a mere large dog.

But then its fur was rapidly hardening, in addition its fur grew  inclination in order to redirect the impact hitting it, and also grew in  multiple layers. Furthermore that multi layers are split into soft  layers and hard layers.

What’s more the sharpness of every single claw it has is increasing,  with elemental attribute added to it, and finally the claws became the  concept of cutting itself. Now they can tore through my barrier.

It grew human arms from its shoulders in order to increase its fighting strength, and each of them are holding weapon.

The monster obtained both beast’s agility and skillful hands that can be said as the greatest weapon of human.

The hand growing from its shoulder swung the sword it held when it  charged forward with a leap. Furthermore it put a delay to the swing. My  barrier got tore apart by the sword. The explosion magic that I put  inside the barrier hit the flat of the sword and diverted the sword’s  trajectory.

However, I’m blown away just from the sword pressure that was  radiated simply from the sword’s passing. My body struck the ground and  my bones broke……I quickly returned into slime form and in addition I  formed the shape of arm to heal.

「Withdraw already all of you!」

My daughters spoke through the communication magic saying that they can’t possibly leave me behind.

However, only one of them, the Enlight of 【King】……in other words my  daughter who is in charge of politic and tactic, she is the only one who  kept her calm and remonstrated her sisters.

The Enlight of 【Magic】 and the Enlight of 【Healing】 are already  running out of magic. The Enlight of 【Alchemy】 has used up all her  weapons and the sword of the Enlight of 【Sword】 has snapped.

My daughters don’t have any more fighting capacity. They are just a hindrance now.

The Enlight of King rebuked them about that fact and so they used the  magic tool engraved with teleportation formula that I gave to each of  them to evacuate urgently.

「Now then, as expected I’m already tired. What about you? You have  used your strength to roll back the causality and evolve like that  right? I can feel how you have declined to be a mere shadow of your  former self.」

Sadly, it’s still powerful even in that state.

It ran toward me.

I can’t even use magic to fly now.

When I grabbed my pendant which is an emergency magic tool filled with teleportation formula, the demon king dog howled.

My eardrums are crushed and blood spurted out. In addition a wall of air crashed to me.

A mere roar is this powerful.

I fell flat on the ground and realized that the situation is even worse than the damage on my body.

「This is……not just a coincidence huh.」

Teleportation is a delicate magic. I won’t know where I got sent to if the mana field around me got this disordered.

It will be problematic if I got sent to sea, high up in the sky, or  underground……normally I’ll be able to deal with such predicament easily,  but I’ll die if I got sent randomly like that while I’m running out of  mana like this.

That demon king dog only saw my daughters using teleportation once.  It noticed the working of the magic and its weakness just from that.

Furthermore…….

「It’ll notice my weakness too after damaging me badly like this.」

It opened its giant mouth toward me who can’t move. Flame is raging madly inside that mouth.

I’m a slime in the shape of human. I’ll simply change shape no matter  how many times I got hit or slashed. I can just divide my cells or  rearrange my shape.

But, my cells won’t be able to return to normal if they got incinerated.

Although I have spent dozens of years compressing slime cells to  create enough stock, I consumed a lot of them to create the clone to  heal my disciple. I have run out of stock in this fight.

It will be the end for me if I got hit by that attack.

(I can still block that, but I’ll be finally spent after that.)

My insurance for when a hopeless situation cornered me isn’t just limited to the teleportation magic tool.

However, I’ll run out of stock soon.

I managed to hold back this monster for half a day only because I had  savings, like many years stock of slime cells, every kind of artifact,  mana battery, etc. I have used up all of those savings.

Good grief, just what is that stupid disciple doing?

He should have come out of the Room of Time’s Interstice around this time…….

A giant fire ball is spat out. That will be enough to burn off all of my cells.

I’m going to use my last insurance……but I stopped.

Because there is no more need for that.

A spear of light flew from high in the sky. It pierced the fire ball.

The fire ball twisted, scattered, and vanished.

It wasn’t just a brute force. That fire ball would burst out if it  was simply pierced and I wouldn’t get away from the explosion unscathed.  The light spear was a detailed magic with parameter that had been  calculated thoroughly.

The number of people who can use magic at that level can be counted in two hands in this world.

Yes, that isn’t something that can be used while the user’s magic  circuit is injured and he has to use every trick in the book to use  magic properly.

「……So you came through with your selfishness, Ork.」

「Sensei, sorry I’m late.」

I laughed.

My last disciple came with wings growing from his back.

Those wings were created from transforming slime cells. It seems he  wasn’t satisfied with just healing his magic circuit. He even obtained  new power before coming here.

The demon king dog leaped backward.

Wariness and fear.

This monster is reduced to that by an even greater monster.

Ork was changing into such thing.

「I’m a bit tired. I leave the rest to you.」

「Marle will fight!」

Marle’s voice came from Ork’s body.

Fumu, they don’t become one person even after becoming one.

It seems this idiot disciple has found an answer that I was unable to find in the theorizing stage.

I smiled, then crushed the teleportation magic tool between my teeth  and absorbed its mana into my body. With this I can at least protect  myself even if I stayed here. I won’t get in the way of my disciple.

In exchange I can’t use teleportation that was my insurance though.

I believed that my disciple will win and chose to witness it.

That’s my responsibility as a teacher who believed in that idiot and gave him such reckless choice.

And above all else, this way seems like it will be more interesting.
