I was only abot 4 but we went to see the procession. All the way on the tube from zone 9. But being little kids we were too short to see anything there was a woman behind us with a radio tv so we ended up watching it on that. Coukd have just watched it on the TV at home. 😂 I then grew up to be a republican

2021-04-18 21:22:32 +0000 UTCOn an evolutionary level I think flowers and opera just symbolise wealth and exclusivity. Floweres are expensive for what they are (something thst will only last a few days) and opera tickets at least historically were expensive an an upper class pursuit. So it's like you've got enough resources to provide more than survivial. In early human times it would have been finding a very rare plant or animal. Like we've got so much food and security I can tit about finding a flower you've never seen before. Opera and flowers are just our culture's coding of special. It's probably something sthat varies cross culturally and historically.
