Chapter 84 - Runic System!

{Rigel's Room, Slytherin Dorm, Hogwarts}

{3rd Person POV}

"What do you think slut, are you ready to make a deal or not?" Rigel asked, looking at the flushed look on Pansy's face he was pretty sure that she would agree. But contrary to his expectations the brunette showed a lot more fight. Her hand clearly grabbed onto his wrist trying to remove his grip.

Rigel frowned but he let go of her, it seems he misjudged her because he looked at her requirements wrong. She shared a lot of similarities with Evelyn and Narcissa so he thought she would be submissive too but it seems like he judged her too lightly.

"No- Cough, Cough... stay bac-" Pansy wheezed as she took a couple of steps back. Her reaction was a little too much considering he had just squeezed her neck lightly, just enough to cut off her air supply for not more than 5 seconds.

'Was it because she is too used to being treated gently?' Rigel thought but in any case, since she was on guard right now it wouldn't do well to continue trying to persuade her right now.

'I'm pretty sure she was aroused, I guess the Pleasure Lock skill will have to do.'

"Don't get your panties in a twist," Rigel spoke getting Pansy's attention again, "I thought from your reactions that you would make a good pet, weren't pureblood known for their manners?" He wondered out loud trying to get a raise from her.

"I'm not a pet," Her voice had difficulty conveying her affronted look as it was still pretty weak.

"I guess you are not... well I guess my conditions remain the same, if you want to discuss them further then get on your knees, otherwise... ~Mischefss Managedsss~" Rigel gave her an ultimatum and whispered the password again.

He saw her flinch at his use of Parseltongue but she managed to get her bearings and walked over to the room. The door opened quite easily and after hesitating for a split second she walked out of the room.

'Hmm, a little disappointed but it's alright, I'll get her sooner than later.' Rigel thought. He walked over to the gate and closed it. Now that he was in the room it wouldn't matter much so he decided to continue his research into wards.

He sat down at his table as he thought about what he had learned in the last couple of days. Wards, as he was expecting was a sub-branch of Runes. They worked like a security blanket but had multiple set conditions that would trigger a ward.

The simplest alert ward that he was after needed a combination of 7 runes to cast. Each of the runes had a different function and would have a different desired effect when mana runs through it and what runes were linked to it.

Along with that, there were several different ways to get similar results just like with potions. He hasn't started exploring runes yet as he was waiting for an engraving kit that he had owl-ordered.

'It should be here tomorrow I think, till then I should cram some knowledge about the Norse Runic Language, it is supposed to be the easiest of them to learn.' Rigel thought. His eyes scanned the symbols that were mainly formed of lines, dots, and half circles and how they were intricately interconnected with each other to form a runic scheme.

While Rigel wasn't sure if just copy-pasting these symbols would be enough, it was his only read because proper runes class was still 2 years away.

Rigel leaned back into his chair. From what he could tell he was far from being able to erect a ward in Myrtyl's Bathroom. The two primary things he realized that he was missing were a wardstone and something that could show that the Alert ward was tripped. He needed both of these things because he was creating a brand new ward and he didn't have access to Hogwarts ward stone so obviously he couldn't anchor it to the school's power source.

'So I need to buy a wardstone as well, a small one would do since I just need it for one ward.' Rigel thought. He flipped over the pages of the book 'Introduction to Wards: The Frontlines of Defensive Seige'. The introduction to Wardstones was a little different than he had imagined.

'Diamonds, wizards are using diamonds to anchor wards?' Rigel thought. The absurd thought was pushed aside as another idea came to him. The market for Synthetic diamonds was quite huge in his past life, could he use those diamonds to anchor wards? And if so then he needed to work hard to capitalize on it before anyone else does.

*Knock* *Knock*

Two knocks on his door interrupted his dreams as he stood up from his desk and walked over to open the door. Daphne peered into his room for a brief second and then asked, "What did she want?"

"Trying to strike a deal for the Core Expansion Ritual." Rigel shrugged, "Come in, I was just studying about runes, you might be able to help me..."

AN - I decided against conquering Pansy on the first try, it seemed a little too easy for now. instead you get to see a basic idea of the Runic system!
