The Continent of Wordal
Added 2021-12-24 11:01:35 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Let me present to you the Continent of Wordal, the fourth map for December and final map of the year.
I'm really excited to end the year by sharing this map with you all. Some of you have been very invested in the world building side of this page and it makes me super happy that I can finally share the full continent map with you all! This is my Christmas present to all of you who made it possible for me to built this world over the past 3 years.
Wordal is a large continent that is home to a variety of people and cultures, as well as diverse biomes. The north is a cold wasteland and home of a harsh folk related to giants and the dwarves of Hammarkin. To the west are the great kingdoms and remnants of the great Ryric en Burbric empires. South are the unexplored jungles and deserts that are home to dangerous creatures and powerful magic. To the west is an isolated merchant republic that has sets its eyes on a a new continent.
Around this time of the year the people of Wordal are preparing for the Winter Solstice, which marks the first day of the new year. Throughout the continent the Burbric Calendar is the most common one, after it was spread by the Burbric Empire. Each year in the Burbric Calendar is divided into twelve months of 30 days each. Every month counts 5 weeks of 6 days and months and weeks can both be tracked by looking to the skies. The moon called Misa has a cycle of 30 days and the full Mana marks the beginning of a new month. The moon Wytho has a cycle of 6 days and a full Wytho marks the beginning of a new week.
Now that the continent is fully uncovered it is time to explore all the cities, towns and regions that we haven't had a chance to zoom in on, so be sure to expect an even more fleshed out Wordal in the future!

I hear you, but I'm afraid it's pretty much useless as this scale due to the map distortion. For reference, east to west across the top of the map is roughly 400km or 250 miles. At the bottom of the map, the distance is roughly 2160km or 1340 miles. As you can see, a fixed scale at this size is pretty much useless.
