Hey everyone! Let me present to you the Temple of Ekemtis, the final map for the Delta theme.
The Temple Complex of Ekemtis in located along the southern branches of the Delasis Delta. It contains several temples, shrines and religious sites, as well as libraries and religious archives. Many people come to Ekemtis to study under wise philosophers.
While most places in Wordal practice the faith of the Great Balance, Tarnish religion is based around four gods: Soldakar, Azura, Arida and Zevir. Soldakar is the Father of the gods, also known as the Father and the God of the Sun
Arida is the oldest child of Soldakar and Goddess of Sand. She is also associated with death and the patron of merchants and nomads.
Azura is the second child of Soldakar and the Goddess of Rivers. The is responsible for the flooding of the Delasis River and associated with luck.
Zevir is the youngest child of Soldakar and the God of Civilization. He is responsible for laws, agriculture and associated with prosperity.
As the Father is believed to watch over his children during the day. At night, when the Father is sleeping, his children awaken and as such most religious ceremonies are held at night.
A child born to the King or Queen of Tarnen is visited by the oldest priests who determine which God the child embodies. Throughout their lives the duties of the princes or princesses reflect the Gods they represent. When the King or Queen dies their children gather and are visited by the oldest priests again, who perform a ritual to determine the future needs of Tarnen. Based on their visions they decide which of the eligible heirs will be best suited to rule the kingdom and the next King or Queen is chosen.
