Preparations

As happy I am with the book being finished, I am far from 'done' in any meaning of the word. Among the easier things I'm dealing with, I need to be available 24/7 to help out formatters and proofreaders who are tackling the manuscript. 

Tackling? With hundreds of footnotes and scientific references, it's easily the most complex work they've encountered so far. In the fitness genre, there's not even a close second (1). I'm talking book, a damn hard one at that. Ain't a 3-page PDF I've been working on. It's the first and last book of it's kind and until I decide to write another one, you will never see its like again, period. 

Now aside from that, there's more book related tasks; setting up my Amazon page so I can get pre-orders out ASAP, planning a launch strategy, and so forth. 

Then there's all the real-life shit I've been neglecting because of the damn book. My driver's license expired 8 days ago. I simply never found time to get a photo taken. I'm looking for a new apartment. My place looks like shit and needs cleaning. Spent half the day today doing laundry, and then what? 

Spent the afternoon setting up my new mac and didn't even get started on the organisational challenge of migrating >30 gigs  of scientific papers from one reference manager to another. 

Or sorting and cleaning debris left over from the book writing; pictures, text documents in different formats, etc, hundreds. You get the point.

But the real challenge is the Patreon-exclusive I'm planning to release in conjunction with the book. That's 10 days and frankly, I'm not sure it can be done to the extent I want; I will consult with experts on the subject matter tomorrow. Obviously, I'm not going to tell you, but rest assured it would be something very useful. 

Oh - forgot to mention that I need to update a bunch of shit on the site as well.

So there you go, ^my excuse(s) for not making any commitments beyond daily attendance in the Question threads until the book is out. Or until I've done what I need to do, in the unlikely case those tasks should be completed before release day. 

I won't be writing any articles, Q&As or jack shit over the next 10 days. That's understandable, but what's giving me a guilty conscience, is the fact that I said I would.  Well, I'm sorry. I've been naive to many aspects of the book writing process. That's all I  can say really. And now I need to conserve my energy to get it out right. 

Eventually, of course, I will resume my normal release schedule. For now, it's on hiatus for the reasons outlined above. I hope you'll forgive me when you read the book. In fact, I think you will and I wouldn't have taken it this far if I had doubts.

Alright guys, that's it. Went a bit longer than expected, but I guess I felt the need to vent a little bit too. That's how it is sometimes. You can't have the wheat without the chaff, so to speak. With me you get a whole lot of time related misfires, guilty as charged. 

But you also get what no one else can or will give you. In two weeks, around August 6th, I'll show you.
