SpaceX Starship Updates – Starship Mass Production Update

Welcome to Episode 78 of What about it!?

In this Episode, we will take a look at SpaceX's Starship SN3 and why it might be the first Starship prototype to actually see some flight time. We Will also take a look at SpaceX's evolving mass production plans for coming Starship prototypes and we'll have a look at what might change for the surrounding area. Brownsville Texas is already undergoing the first changes.

When they are welding, they also have to be careful of the HAZ( heat-affected zone) so as not to weaken the material or make it brittle.

I was researching s/s and 253ma stainless using fusion welding might be great, especially if the carbon content is kept really low!!! Like you said, pure argon gas is the way to go!

All cool now!!! 😎

I had to download the app first. It didn’t prompt me!

I tried Discord and it didn’t work! Chromium melts @ 3465 f, so it’s great!!

How does Chromium do on reentry heat?

With 316L , the L stood for extra Chromium for better welding!!

SpaceX is using large amounts of argon for that. Would nitrogen be better? What did you work on? πŸ™‚

SpaceX reportedly is using robotic welding for the bulkheads now. Automated welding for the hull is still planned.

We used to weld a lot of 316L S/S and always used Nitrogen gas to evacuate any Oxygen for better welds! I don’t see that either!!

Has SpaceX tried robotic welding with optical guidance. From what I have seen it all looks manual of course we cannot see the inside. Thx
