MagicaCSG Demo II: Constraints of Swept Paths

The default setting provides you 4 degrees of freedom per control point for the swept path.

But the tool also provides several constraint options to make the manipulation of shape easier.

(See the Top Bar)

1. Position Constraint

1D: the control points are on the same axis (local Z)

2D: the control points are on the same plane (local YZ)

3D: free to move the points in 3D space.

2. Size Constraint

C: customized size. The sizes of the control points are independent.

U: Uniform size. All the control points have the same size.

L: Linearly Tapered. The sizes are linearly interpolated between the end points. (you only need to modify the first and last control points)

3. Auto Rotation Correction

It's very easy to mess the rotation of control points in 3D space. With this option on, the path will automatically assign smooth rotations to the control points. (you only need to move the points around)

Comments

I've been figuring out how to get larger photos and I think I may have found a way. Making a panograph.

It's been alot of fun just trying out new ideas when they just pop up. It's just easy for me to start up the program and get to work on a new project. And just add new things as I go along.
