Wishlist for 2024

Hi everyone, thanks for all the support in the past years.

Many improvements and features (Helix, Sweep, Groove Blend, etc.) have been made from the user suggestions and requests.

For some of the features, I didn't realize how to implement them at first, but finally found some workaround (though not perfect) during the research and development.

Some of the requested features may not be suitable for the current nondestructive pipeline, or appear to be too expensive/complex for interactive editing, but they may find their place in another framework.

This year, I would like to achieve some new milestones, like a better renderer, subgroup Boolean, and some new prototypes. If you get some new ideas, don't hesitate to add the wishlist here.

I would like a blend mode that makes participating objects form a convex hull (like shrink-wrapping). Could be really useful for clothing/fabric layers. (For now, I'm using Marvelous Designer on exported models) mockup https://imgur.com/a/bhT2oPR

Hello Ephtracy! First I'd like to express my giant gratitue towards your work, it really has changed my 3D life! As for the features I'd most welcome in MagicaCSG, I'd definitely choose units. Units, units, units and units. I am aware that SDF/CSG is not supposed to be about precision, yet it would still be a huge aid I believe towards character design and hardsurface modeling. I would also like to be able to rotate precisely, having input fields for rotation just as for the scale and position. That would do for my wishlist for now. Great work on the recent group system! I will do my best to promote your work in the future!

Hiya, Forgot to mention, one of the most frustrating parts is not seeing what a replace operation or boolean is doing. I think you mentioned doing a wireframe for boolean subtract but please dont forget the replace operation or really any operation that makes the object invisible and hard to tweak without going back and forth for visibility (can be quite a time sink for polish)

Hello, on my side there is one important thing that I would love to see and who could help me a lot when I teach 3D for beginners with MagicaCSG. It's to have the Rotation values visible in the Gizmo panel (same as the Size and Position) An other thing that could be nice to have is more export file format (OBJ, STL, etc..) And also thanks a lot for the development of this wonderful software !
