MagicaCSG Beta 0.5.1: Avoid Blend

This update includes a new blend mode and some improvements for subgroups.

Avoid Blend Mode

a new blending mode besides Groove Blend.

This blend mode is basically a soft subtraction, followed by a hard union, but it avoids duplication of strokes and computations.

It can be applied to Union and Subtract Boolean operations (the difference is which object is softly subtracted.)

Inflate defines the gap between strokes. You can use only inflate (blend = 0) or only blend (inflate = 0) to see how the parameters affect the appearance.

Chamfer blending can also be applied to this mode.

Passthrough Option of Subgroup

The default subgroup first blends the strokes locally within the group, and then blends the group with previous strokes.

Passthrough mode blends the strokes in the normal order as there is no subgroup there (while you can still operate the group of strokes as a compound object).

Overridden Option of Subgroup

Overridden mode overrides the contained strokes with the subgroup's own color and material (A/B).

It's often used when you only want to use the subgroup as a single stroke with customized shape.

Duplicate Strokes in the Stroke List

you are able to duplicate strokes directly in the stroke list by dragging strokes with CTRL+SHIFT pressed.

MagicaCSG Beta 0.5.1: Avoid Blend

Comments

when you modify a value, the changes can be applied to multiple selected primitives simultaneously. some of them may use those options, some may not. so it's better to leave them there for now.

ephtracy

I love these passthrough and override functions! Maybe the Blend slider for the Subgroup can be dimmed (or hidden) while Passthrough is enabled. The A/B Material buttons and Color swatches for Strokes within an Override Subgroup could also be similarly dimmed.

moat

I think that feature you're looking for is already in! Hold CTRL while dragging a scale axis.

moat

I would like to suggest a new feature or option key. Let's take box scale adjustment as an example. Currently, when adjusting the scale of the x-axis, it is adjusted symmetrically. I would like to have an option key that can adjust asymmetrically by pushing in one side. I used Adobe Neo and it is convenient, so I am making a suggestion. The sentences may not be smooth because it is Google Translate. Please understand.
